What is Biblioteques Públiques de Catalunya?
Biblioteques Públiques de Catalunya is a Catalan Public Reading System service that enables users to take out digital-content loans through Catalan public library cards. Such content will be accessible through various devices: tablets, smartphones, pcs and ebook readers.
The service was launched by the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sport in collaboration with the Generalitat of Catalonia's Department of Culture, Barcelona Provincial Council and Barcelona City Council.
The service is available at the address https://biblioteca.ebiblio.cat/opac/?locale=en. It can also be accessed by downloading the app, which is available for Android and iOS devices.
What can I find in Biblioteques Públiques de Catalunya?
Biblioteques Públiques de Catalunya offers a collection of the latest editorial releases on:
- Fiction works for adults and children, that include comics, novels, poetry and plays.
- Non-fiction works for adults and children, on themes that include social sciences, personal transformation, sports, computers, travel, etc.
Who can use Biblioteques Públiques de Catalunya?
Anyone with a Catalan Public Reading System library card can use Biblioteques Públiques de Catalunya. You can request one directly at any library Directory of Public Libraries .
You will be given information at your public library on how to apply for a card and on its terms and conditions. Your email address must appear in the data you include in your request if you wish to gain access to eBiblio.
To access the service you must identify yourself with your user-card number and password or PIN.
